Sixpence Seward County Parent Educator
Seward Public Schools is seeking a full-time (37.5 hours a week) Parent Educator to be a part of our Sixpence Birth to Three Program. Seward County Sixpence is a joint partnership between the Seward, Milford, and Centennial School Districts. The Parent Educator would be housed in the Milford and Centennial School Districts and work with children and families in those two communities.
The role of the Parent Educator is to work with parents of young children (prenatal through the age of 3) to develop strong relationships with their children. The Parent Educator is a mentor and a coach, focusing on enhancing parent-child interactions and promoting early childhood development. They meet with families in their homes, conduct developmental screenings, and plan monthly group events to build parental confidence and support school readiness.
Location: Milford and Centennial School Districts
Reports to: Special Service Directors in all three school districts in Seward County
Contract Days:260
Pay: $20-$25/hour

Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Early Education, Nursing, Social Work, or related field, with coursework directly related to infants and toddlers, or completion of Early Learning Guidelines training.
- An Associate's Degree in one of the above areas will be considered with a plan for obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree
- Willingness to obtain required training (may include):
- Parents as Teachers curriculum training: Home Visiting Core Practices and Principle On-line Training; Child Abuse and Neglect: Teaching Strategies GOLD within the first year of hire.
- Computer literate and knowledgeable of Microsoft Office, and proficient in Excel
- Flexible and willing to collaborate
- Successful completion of a background check
- Valid Driver’s License
