Speech Language Pathologist

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR CERTIFICATION:
- A Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Nebraska license required
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred
- CFY supervision is available
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Speech-Language Pathologist's duties include:
- Working with our Early Childhood team with families whose children are eligible for an IFSP.
- Working with our Early Childhood team with our students who are eligible for speech service in our Seward Community.
- Working with our Non-Public Team to support students at our 3 Non-public schools (grades Kindergarten through 8th grade) who are eligible for speech-language services.
- Identification and remediation program for students of all ages in the areas of speech, language, voice, and fluency.
- Provide services, consultation, and training to students and staff, especially in the areas of reading, language, social skills, and autism.
- Develops materials for an effective speech/language program.
- Creates lesson plans that meet each student’s IEP goals and carry out appropriate instruction that leads to goals being met.
- Complete all special education-related paperwork as required by Rule 51.
- Maintains records in accordance with state and federal requirements.
- Maintains required data and confidential records as requested by administrative staff.
- Needs to be able to work collaboratively with teams as well as take initiative.
- Serves as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Participates in the IFSP/IEP development and chairs the team when appropriate.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings and in-service activities.
- Conducts parent conferences.
- Regular and reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of this job.
